LG Councillors in Niger state hold ministry officials hostage over N1.7Bn allowances

The forum of concillors in the twenty five Local Government area of niger state on monday embarked on a protest holding principal officers of the local government ministry hostage over their N1,746,500,000 severance allowance.

Chairman of the Councillor’s Forum Comrade Yahaya Shehu told reporters that governor Babangida Aliyu only paid N1.1 million to each councillor for furniture allowance with a balance of N1.4 million remaining.

He said “we are 274 Councillors, 175 Supervising Councillors, 25 Vice Chairmen and 25 Secretaries that the government have refuse to pay and this severance allowance is enshrine in the constitution of nigeria.

Bishop David Oyedepo says poverty is not of God.  He insists a child of God has no business being poor and declares: “There’s a proven covenant cure for poverty.”  If this were true and proven, all the world’s poor would have become rich Christians by now.

Let us juxtapose the bishop’s enticing words with the word of God and see whose report should be believed.  Jesus says: “You will always have the poor among you.” (John 12:8).  Moses says: “The poor will never cease from the land.” (Deuteronomy 15:11).  So where does that leave Bishop Oyedepo’s “proven covenant cure for poverty?”  It is a pie in the sky.

Many Will go to jail after May 29

AS the Minister of Finance Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Nigeria Governors Forum, NGF, engage in war of words over the alleged unaccounted $20 billion accrued to the Excess Crude Account, ECA, while the NGF was in crisis, Senator Olusola Adeyeye has said that many Nigerians will go to jail after May 29, when the new administration would have taken over power.

Buhari Ministers List is Fake- APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere fiction the ministerial list widely circulating in the social media, as President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet list.

”Nigerians should disregard these lists and await the authentic list which will be communicated through the appropriate channels at the right time,” Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party’s publicity secretary said today.

The ministerial list circulating was said to have emanated from the DSS, DMI and NIA. It was said to have been submitted to the security agencies last week.

Among the persons listed are Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the former Osun state governor, Chief Bode Mustapha, the former PDP National Auditor and the Director General,Senator Ibikunle Amosun Campaign Organisation, Engr. Segun Oni, the former Ekiti State governor and APC Deputy National Chairman (South/West).
